• Bonner County Democrats Donate to The Idaho Girls State Program

    In 2024, The Bonner County Democrats contributed $250 to the American Legion Unit 155 of Oldtown, Idaho to help them send 5 well deserving local high school girls to Boise for a week for the girls State program.

    American Legion Auxiliary is a nonpartisan program that teaches young women responsible citizenship. Since the inception of the Girls State program in 1937, nearly one million young people have had the opportunity to learn first-hand how their state and local government works.

  • Sandpoint Pride Festival - 2024

    The BC Dems were at the Sandpoint Pride Festival July 12 and 13th until 8:00 pm.

    Pride is a human rights issue and we support the rights of all people to live in a safe, supportive community.

    We support the freedom to be, to become, and to belong.

    We had a great turn out for the 2024 4th of July Parade. The Bonner County Democrats value freedom and will fight for your freedom to live your best life without government overreach into your personal and private life.

  • The Bonner County Democrats were proud to present our Erik Bruhjell Memorial Scholarship to Berkeley Cox - 2024

    Berkeley Cox, pictured here with Sylvia Humes, Scholarship Chair, wrote that she is passionate about inspiring other young people to become involved in local and national politics so their voices will be heard. She has dedicated the final months of her senior year "as an active voice for my community and my peers" by working as an intern to successfully elect Jim Woodward to the Idaho State Senate. "This year I decided to use my voice, my passion for justice and my desire to work hard for what I believe in to try and make a change at the state level".

    Berkeley plans to attend either Georgetown University, Washington D.C. or Fordham University, New York City majoring in Political Science, Global Relations, and Peace & Conflict Studies.Her ultimate goal is to become a lawyer.

    We wish her the very best in her ambitious future endeavors!!

  • Bonner County Democrats Donate to Bonner County Homeless Transitions

    The Bonner County Democrats partner with local businesses in Sandpoint to raise money for the homeless transitions group here in Sandpoint. They help house families and help them get back on their feet with services needed.

  • County Chair of the Year Award goes to Linda Larson!!

    We are proud of the work that our team accomplishes the under the leadership of our Chairwoman, Linda Larson. Linda has lived in Idaho for 50 years and Bonner County for the past 38 years. She raised her two daughters here camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, skiing, swimming, and marveling at the beauty all around us.

    She works to build a community where we are all free to BE, to BECOME, and to BELONG. Thank you, Linda, for all of your hard work.

  • Highway Clean up Year #16

    Here we are again, keeping our 1 mile of highway clean. Join us in the spring of 2024 for some fun in the sun. We clean up our environment because we love Bonner County and the earth so we take action based on our values.

  • City Beach Clean Up

    We found so much trash left after the 4th of July fireworks event. People at the beach thanked us for cleaning things up. We had a fun BBQ afterwards. Thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy to this worthwhile event.

    For the 15th year in a row, the BC Democrats conducted our Spring Hwy 95 Clean-Up! Volunteers spent all day working along Hwy 95, and picked up more than a dozen bags of trash. This is just one way the BC Dems contribute to keeping our area pristine and contribute to a clean environment for us all!

    The 2022 recipient of the Erik Bruhjell Memorial Scholarship is Caiya Yanik from Clark Fork High School! Caiya will be using her $500 scholarship when she begins attending Boise State University this fall!

    Sponsored by the Bonner County Democrats, this scholarship honors the memory of Erik Bruhjell, a 2014 graduate of Sandpoint High School and human rights and environmental activist, who was killed by a drunk driver in July 2018.
